Love

by Elisabeth Barstowe — Read all 441 poems by Elisabeth Barstowe

In a state of constant longing
I am like a flower reaching it's
frail petals towards your light.

I cannot pretend even to myself
that I am anything else
than taken, completely shaken.

So many hours have been spent
wondering why this feeling wont fade,
instead of embracing the fortune I made,
when I first found myself pulled towards
your magnetism,
your brightly colored prism.

Good poetry rises to the top.
Excellent poetry glistens.
Your poem awakens music, brings out a glow,
and puts me in the mood for physical, mental,
and a whole lot of mutual love!
