Poem Artwork

Hearts moving towards bliss
not a single doubt within
How can that possibly be a sin?

The many paths that became
the practice to make perfect
in preparation for true love.

So many broken promises,
so many broken hearts,
strewn over footsteps
walking away,
back turned
on disarray.

Always the one to leave
when the arguing would
never stop.

There is no need to slowly die
for the sake of keeping pride,
for the sake of keeping peace,
in the trenches where war
would never cease.

Body and soul became
battered and bruised
asylum was sought
in the sanctuary of solitude
among the multitude.

From the ashes arisen
a soul stitched and glued
a heart mended,
carefully tended.

Beating strong for the one
she knew was to come.
