Time is a Serial Killer

by Elisabeth Barstowe — Read all 441 poems by Elisabeth Barstowe

Sunday, January 22, 2023

Time flies my friend,
and yet, here we are,
still as far away from
home as we ever was.

Time is a killer, a silent
bloody serial killer, that
comes for all of us.
In the end, there is no
escape, no defence.

Please don't waste no
precious time, it's your
life on the line.

Your happiness, your bliss,
I can promise you this,
there's not enough time,
to have spent when you
come to the end of the line.

When time has stolen all your
precious days, all your love
that could have been, all that
never was, but you wish you
could have had.

You are right on with this one Elizabeth, as I grow closer year by year to hitting 70 and although I have no regrets, I still wish I had done so much more with my life. In education, in travelling, in relationships etc. The bottom line is grab each opportunity in live and embrace love always.
