Well of Dreams

Heartstrings, gently sings.
Fallen, I have fallen for you,
it's all the things you do.

Behind it all, the reason you fall.
The holes you have dug for yourself,
the inbetweens placed on your shelf.

Me, I'm just a spectator, to the spectacle.
Your audience to watch your dance,
you are the wild dervisch in trance.

I could rush to your defense, mend your fence.
Correct your wrongs into right,
take your Don Quixote-fight.

I could lull you to sleep while you weep
in my arms, my bosom for you to rest,
when life has put you to the test.

I would do it gladly, for I am madly
in love with you,
your soul is true .

You keep create the reason for which you weep.
The hills to climb sometimes,
all the gold from which you mine.

For I know that inside your soul glows,
an oddity in how your world is set,
in perfect balance the scales are met.

To keep the best of each side, and rest from strife
in your own space and time,
you find your reason, your rhyme.

You don't need me, it's clear to see.
You are perfectly content with yours,
I am but a stranger at your shores.

Goodbye and farewell, construct  from my souls well.
I will not fetch another dream,
instead I will live the in between.

Where I am perfectly content, life heaven sent.
My rights so right
I will keep holding them tight.

Your ability to put the rights and wrongs of love into a coherent lyrical style capable of reaching the most chagrined breaks of love complexities is genuinely outstanding. Your poem offers solace to the bereaved and joy for tenaciously successful relationships. I, like you, find there is a powerful Yin and Yang to love and only those willing to see both sides of the challenge and accept its outcome ever lay to rest hatred and revenge which calmly waits in the wings for its cue. Bravo, Elisabeth.

Your verses express "real" and "true" love, Elisabeth. Love, peace, and best wishes to you,

Regis. 🙏🌺

This is the best poem live read from you. So gently and beautifully you describe a love that ascends all others with its clarity and understanding. I hope it's not just a dream, but a reality.

Damned lucky guy, the object of your apostrophising !!! And so adeptly woven - one can see the sinews enlacing with ease - as you lift the weight off your burden of JOY !!! No, really, exquisitely worked out. Best, TW.
