It’s been a while

It's been a while,
hours and days on pile.

We've added a few miles
to this evergrowing file.

Lovers come and gone,
brittle grown our bones.

It's been fun and games,
tears and pains.

Wrong and rights,
endless nights,
where we've thought we couldn't go on,
while better days were in the blink of an eye, gone.

Endless paradox of life,
to enhance strife.

While making joys small
as to keep heeding its call.

But here we are now,
wisdom of years bestowed.

That we can appreciate who we are inside,
and the means by which we abide.

Maybe now we can slow down enough to really see
the miracle inside you, inside me.

Set this fated story free,
upon the endless sea
of no return
so we shall burn.

That last line doesn't seem to fit the wisdom of time revealed between what happened before and what is happening after "It's been a while."

I sense a bit of wisdom in the time that passed.

It is true that wisdom does seem (in most people) seem to come with age as well as the deep kind of love that surpasses passion and desire. Age allows us to realize that sins of the heart we comitted in our youth are overshadowed by the love we have given and received. Well done Elizabeth, be true to your heart.

The story of life's adventure with your chosen one. Many a valley and mountain, but you pressed on. I think many can relate to this. Enjoyed...
