A Love that Will Remain

Poem Artwork

Dreams of distant shores, of love ascent
praying for happiness that are meant
to bring enlightenment,
in heartfelt presence.

Lighting up the dark,
nightsky of sparks,
Flames rising high,
whispered sighs.

Waking up to love sweet,
my lovers embrace to meet.
I need no more than this
everlasting sweet kiss.

Still my soul yearn for you
for that twinflame I know is true .
What I still don't know
is why it is so.

It will eventually fade into halls of oblivion
since no sign of its truth are shown,
its urgency is sinking into the calm streams
of what I recognize as only foolish dreams.

I grieve the love that could have been,
the light and spark between
hearts and souls that meet,
only to have to face defeat.

With my lover I share the same spark
two souls connected light the dark,
creating fire and flame
and a love that will remain

As is prevalent in most cases of love, the chances taken, the disappointments endured, and the balance forever at risk. Yet, those who know of love... for self, for all that is, for perhaps another, or understanding that love is sufficient unto itself... all reminds one of how enigmatic passion and endearment can be. To lose it, however, this mystery that hasn't been solved yet but continues to be central to sentient beings, is to forego one of the greatest challenges in life. And, who knowingly shirks a challenge? Oh, my... far too many.
