Caught in a dream

by Elisabeth Barstowe — Read all 441 poems by Elisabeth Barstowe

Caught in a dream,
every little sign I see,
the strongest beam,
projecting you and me.

So what now? Where do we go from here?
Are we caught in a treadmill?
An endless hike going nowhere?
Please state your will.

An abundance of words I have for you,
I pour them out, piece by piece
Blow them your way, bold and true ,
pull the lever to release.

These starry eyes are fixed on a dream,
while the nightsky draws me near.
Is it as true as to me it seems?
I hold it to close to heart I fear.

That fated day when I laid my eyes on you,
changed the course of my life forever,
it may sound cheesy but it's true ,
this bond I haven't been able to sever.

some bonds are harder to sever than others. The heart speaks volumes, and the ties aren't easy to break Elisabeth. Wonderful poem, thanks for sharing .
