Story within a story

by Elisabeth Barstowe — Read all 441 poems by Elisabeth Barstowe

A story within a story
overflowing with glory
Morning, noon and night
ablaze with love and light

Tranquil thoughts of love
sweet, pure, warm glow
Leasierly smile on lips
from caress of fingertips

Resting my head on your chest
this feeling of peace is the best
Feeling calm and completely safe
no storm, just sunny beautiful days

No way I'll let this slip out of my grasp
I will cherish this love make it my final task
There is a sense of purpose in our love
come what may with strength bestow

A lovely poem. Very smooth.

What a wonderful tribute to what love can bring if shared by two people alone. My only regret in reading was that the last line did not seem to fit well with the rest of the poem.
