It was so many years ago
When it caught me by surprise
It made my senses more acute
Yet blinded both my eyes
Never in my life before
Had something been so right
A love that was so natural
Just as day turns into night
Reflecting back upon the past
I still do not know why
I did not keep the love alive
I just slowly let it die
Taking it for granted
Pretending not to care
Then one day I come to find
The love no longer there
I paid the price of ignorance
Being alone is the cost
But now I fully understand
About love found and lost
