A man trying to understand and putting up with women's problems.
Pollyanna and me and PMT,
a combo hard to bear.
I'd cower down and sip at my tea,
while Pol pulls out her hair.
For most of the month we were happy and gay,
we never argued or frowned.
But the time would come, when I'd have to pay,
when that dreaded date came around.
How can this girl, so sweet and serene,
a lovely and wonderful wife.
Once every month, hate the world, rave and scream,
and frighten me out of my life.
One day we'll have kids, maybe then things will change,
and her hormones will all settle down.
No more once each month, my life re-arrange,
with a scream and a slap and a frown.
But if things never change, as never they might,
and I'm stuck with this once a month life.
I'll never complain and I'll treat her just right,
she's my darling, my lover, my wife.
Even years after a hysterectomy, my wife still occasionaly gets that "it's that time of the month feelings, and I'm still paying the price. Good luck. We men need it.
I'm dealing with women in menopause. Can't get rid of any of them, they're too valuable to cast out and love holds strong bonds. I only wish their hormones weren't so violent.
