Sick Child Blues
Missing you
through the long night,
my hand caressing
our fevered child.
My heart spasms
with each wrenching cough.
My spirit sighs
through frequent nose-bleeds.
Impotence immerses me
in a fog of futility.
All I can do --
I watch and pray,
holding her hand
through the long night,
missing you.
Missing you
through the long night,
holding her hand.
I watch and pray --
all I can do.
In a fog of futility,
impotence immerses me.
Through frequent nose-bleeds,
my spirit sighs --
with each wrenching cough,
my heart spasms.
Our fevered child,
my hand caressing
through the long night --
missing you.

She's no longer identical with her sister, since The Total Body Irradiation, but after three years of daily growth hormone injections, she's up to five feet tall, and a little dynamo. She's a tribute to tenactity!
Still Living on my Feet is the follow up to Tichaona Chinyelu’s first book, In the Whirlwind, which was rooted in a sense of hard-hitting revolutionary black love. However, in this sophomore effort, Tichaona brings the revolutionary essence from deep
