Many of our loved ones are no longer with us except in spirit. That is even more reason to bring love out every day of the year. Excellent work.

Yes, so true, writing my Christmas cards was bittersweet, so many Aunts and Uncles and loved ones no longer here, but yes they are in spirit and I will light a candle too..Merry Christmas

Touching poem, and makes me think... if the oil of our candle represents the spirits of dearly departed, then our light shines brighter for our losses. Keep those candles burning, Poetess, and we'll all find that we are keeping more than merely a memory alive. Peace and joy be with you this Christmas season and throughout the years to come.
