                         I'm standing in the rain

                         lost in time and place

                         wondering what I've gained.

                         Clouds give relief and shade

                         spelling the fall of sun

                         i'm standing in the rain.

                          Dusk eases its way across the plains

                          a time of recollections

                          wondering what I've gained.

                          Given the moment, I can't complain

                          when given to contemplations

                          I'm standing in the rain.

                         While singing my refrain

                         I listen to a whisper of wind

                         wondering what I've gained.

                        The fall of sun eases the day

                        and a time of reflections

                        I'm standing in the rain

                       wondering what I've gained.
