A Tribute to the Harbor Pilot Harbor pilot just at dusk Hoisted up from rolling deck Makes his living protecting others Without question risks his neck Through the fog and tossing waves Around the maze of rocks below He guides the vessel with the knowledge Of the hidden hazards few others know When his day is done and we are safe To seek what the journey will reveal I’ll take this moment to make note Some guys just have balls of steel Copyright 2009 Patrick A. Wonderful write, Patrick, to those who risk their lives for others - greater love hath no man than to lay down his life for his friends is what came to mind reading these lines - well done.
