THREE MONKEYS IN PARADISE!

How will God see us.

Do not shut your eyes

cover your ears,

or make out

you do not know what to say,

for what is wrong

what is inhumane

needs more

than explaining away.

Tides may turn

memories are shorter

yet water that flows

may come back

to haunt you.

A child dies of hunger

every six seconds,

baby seals are bludgeoned

for no reason at all.

We stuff the Earth

with so much waste,

whats wrong with us

the human race.

Be like three monkeys

if that is your way,

not trusting your fellow man

what you hear

what you see

what you say.

Someday maybe soon

as all things do

what goes around

comes around

of that we cannot choose,

only when

and if it is maybe soon

how do we answer

when God says

'So what did you do?'

I don't know how I'll answer John. I just hope I've done enough that the question won't be directed at me. BTW, my maiden name is Townsend. It's a grand name, is it not?

John,

How often we are like the three monkeys. It's easier just to ignore what's around us, to face it head on. Wonderful Write.

Mary
