A surreal poem about noise.

Poem Artwork

Bang!

I hear loud and clear

what it was yet not a clue why

so I subtract the waves of lines

distort it in my mind,

until I am able to appeal

redefine.

It was the big one

the mother of all bangs

we have only just begun

breath easy we can start again.

Then in a moment of doubt

I move the line till a hiss I hear

Oh i sigh

has Armaggedon been through here,

left us with fragments

a sterile hiss

a sheer wall of sound?

It leaves me cold

numb inside

why did I make myself so insecure

it was just a bang that I heard

I meerly became

the victim of fear.

the voluminous frequencies of fear do indeed reach varied levels ...

Most bangs make me jump. Nothing more than a close lightning strike. As for noise, there's nothing worse than a ringing in the ears caused by an inner ear dysfunction. Still, all you have to do is merely go outside in the city and hear it buzz with the sound of traffic.

Armageddon? I don't think so.
