Food has always been at risk. So has water. Foolish people who buy bottled water at great cost don't know that they are adding a tremendous load of pollution to the environment by doing so. And air may soon be sold as being pure through some type of plastic bottle that holds compressed air, exotic gases, or oxygen as paranoia increases about the air and entrepreneurs jump on the bandwagon getting their share of the profits.

Your poem is so right. We are now very trusting people in our infrastructure providing us with food, clean water and air. What is happening in Puerto Rico is a good example of losing the first two. And, how the loss of electricity affects almost everything else and our dependence upon air-conditioning to keep cool in warm climates like there now becomes life-threatening when up until 50 years ago there wasn't any air conditioning anywhere.

Paranoia rules the day. Darwin's survival of the fittest has turned into a nightmare of limited air for the world's inhabitants. If this should ever happen, I hope I'm not living on earth anymore. A hell created from our selfishness.
