DIANA

There are many things that God allows which I do not understand. The death of Great Britain's Princess Diana, most assuredly, is one of those things. However, because I know that God alone gives every soul their first breath and takes their last, I can only say His will was done. I admired her from afar for many reasons, one of them being; her God-given strength to stand up for herself and do what she felt was right in the face of great adversities, while enduring wrenching heartache and emotional pain. A few years ago, in the 19th year following her tragic passing, I was inspired to pen this tribute to a fine, still very much missed, human being, who happened to be...a Princess.

Pressing-on...

Poem Artwork

1961 - 1997

~Diana~

In innocence she came forth

yea, all the world could see

he a prince...they were in love...

for all eternity...thought she

but found, as vision cleared

her dream of...always...

torn and snared

~Diana~

Still...motherhood made her strong

and she drew hope from heirs borne

thus, lifted on wings of strength

from above...

she soared...on destiny's dove

~Diana~

Reaching past her pain

to those poor and without

it was for the distained

she ignored and tossed clout

for within her goodly heart

a quest resided to give of herself

in a way far greater...than part

~Diana~

The beauty of her, though there in face

was not the thing that spun her lace

but it was her ...reach...

to touch and serve for what was right

that made her glow…despite her night

  ~Diana~

Is it any wonder…

that she pined...reciprocal love

something...never known?

Albeit, He...who loved her best

took her hand

and flew her…Home

~Diana~

Oh, departed fleur, it was God

who gifted us with your presence...

a marvelous golden token

...of a rare lasting essence

Your graciousness will ever shine

like a jewel...warm and kept

your sparkle will never cease

for, you are a memory...

so preciously set

~

Thus, throughout time

in the breast of the young...and

those old, like mine

there will ... eternally wave...

her Royal Banner

Indeed, a Fine Lady...

with a mapped beneficence

which eons cannot ever erase

just happened to be...a Princess...

~Diana~

Beautiful Joyce. It's a moving tribute to Diana. Have you considered sending it to her family? I think it would bring them a measure of happiness.. WELL WRITTEN..........M

This is a fine tribute to a fine woman who was taken away (we do not understand why) way too soon. This world needs more people like her. Thank you for sharing, Joyce. Love and blessings to you,

Regis

Oh, what a beautifully worded tribute to such a lady of royalty. We always remember where we were when life-changing events take place. I happened to be in church on the Sunday morning following her death on Saturday night. Our pastor stood in the pulpit and told the congregation about the accident, and my heart was forever broken.

A beautiful tribute to the undying Diana legacy that continues to grow. I can't but see William or Harry and I immediately think of her. She brought something new to that ingrown royal family that will continue down through the ages.

So much hope went on that dreadful day the lights went out. The atmosphere in London was strange ... ineffable to try and describe.

This Princess had a class that can't be learned. She was born with it. That, along with a good heart. She is missed so much by so many. The King of Kings had a special place for her, I'm sure.

Love ya!

A moving tribute, very moving indeed. She was a grand lady, one of a kind. Such a shame to die in such a way, in a speeding car. Thank you for this, most appropriate. JMS Bell. John
