Here…in this land so fair within a purposeful display God surely raised…a par one whom none can say… Was not…a Chosen Bar + And those…far or near that observed his walk-way feel favored to have found in a…General’s Shadow…lay The ensample…of solid ground + Job of Excellence done…now he is gone... and this earth is spinning on Yet, blotted not…in emblazoned mark are indelible footprints... of... his Virtue...on The Hill embarked + Upon seats which he knew…first achievement of his tenures...burst verily, in corridors full of party scowl there is a rendered...hush…remembering… The awesome man…Colin L. Having always admired him, I'm serious when I say that I never wondered about the color of his skin. I mean it! No matter, he was a magnificent human being. God bless his memory!!

Colin knew how to please his superiors and follow their instructions to the letter. That is the way you advance in the military. Don't upset the chain of command. As a result, they advanced him quickly through the ranks until he reached the highest position in the military. As the head of the joint chiefs of staff, he became politically involved and therefore was picked as Secretary of State. Both he and President Obama had the advantage of rapid advancement in their chosen fields of service, military and political.

Unfortunately, as Colin Powell revealed after retirement, he was, because of his duty, convinced by Vice President Cheney that the rumor that Saddam Hussein had "weapons of mass destruction," and went before the United Nations with that information. The resulting war cost thousands of American soldiers lives, over a million Iraqi lives, and the ability of Al Qaeda and ISIS to grow and prosper in the midst of war.

Colin Powell deserves honor, not only for his calm service, but his willingness to come clean and honest about a very serious mistake in judgment.
