My Husband was diagnosed with Adenoid Cystic Carcinoma in April, 2009. This is a very rare cancer, with a poor prognosis.
*Adenoid Cystic Carcinoma (ACC)* Emergency room again Diagnostic test begin. Eyes seeing double He’s in trouble. Cries out no more test Brain needs a rest. Neurologist, Oncologist Nurses and Aides. They come, they go Ask questions, don’t know. His mind’s getting leery My heart’s getting weary. Keeps seeing double Told brain’s in trouble. Don’t know why More test they’ll try. He just want to go home I just want to cry. Every three months More test we pursue. Doctor's come, they go And hope his cancer Won’t come back soon, As it likely will do. Minds are tired My hearts so sad. So many more tests Make's him so mad. Cancer so rare That, we are often told There is no cure. Don’t lose hope Never lose faith. Hold heads high Reach for the sky. My heart goes out to you and him. The fear of not knowing , the pain of the illness , the unending tests and the gravity of the situation take a heavey toll on you both as it wears you down. It becomes discouraging ,and its easy to get depressed when all this is happening. The power of prayer helps a lot . Never give up...My thoughts and prayers are with you and your husband.. I will put you on our prayer list at church!...M
