A Thousand Words

Your eyes follow me everywhere
Never breaking their gaze.
When I look into them
I’m lost and in a daze.

Your eyes always speak to me
Sending a loving message
From the heavenly kingdom
You’re now rejoicing in.

Your eyes follow me everywhere
Never breaking their gaze.
They sparkle with a smile
Setting my tear drops ablaze.

Your pictures are everywhere
Because of my undying love.
You’re my mother and father
That I wished I could hug.

Pictures speak a thousand words
You guide me throughout my day.
I miss you Mom and Dad
In the most heartfelt way.

There is no defining how amazing our parents were. They carried a flame.
I honestly don't see much of that flame around me, but I feel it in me.
It may not be so for most families, but their loves are my loves, their tasks are my tasks. So I water and talk to our plants, feed our birds, listen to our beautiful music every day. Their lives continue in me.
I am thankful for your words, allowing me to know I am not the only one trying to figure out this strange would haunted by their absence.

John
