Hello Everyone - I had Thyroid surgery this past Thursday to remove a 3.5 cm tumor. They removed half of my thyroid and now I wait for results. If it is cancerous then I'll have to go back into surgery to remove the rest of my thyroid. I still have my sense of humor.......

Impatient Patient

I’m slowly coming out of a fog.
Tumor has been removed
Now I play the waiting game.

Oxycodone is keeping me calm
Most of my pain is gone.
Four inch cut on my neck
Look like Frankenstein, what the heck.

I will know the biopsy results then.
Will it come back okay, or will
I go back to surgery another day?

I’m not really afraid
Just an impatient patient each day.
I appreciate all the prayers and concern
I’ll let everyone know what I learn.

"...I still have my sense of humor" <----Does that make it a humour tumor? Sick joke or what. But good on you. Humour is the best healer. Mum had a mastectomy in 1972, plus she gave birth to me (dad nearly thew away the wrong part when he was told to cut the cord, then chocked laughing when he heard I was the baby) and nearly 40 years on she's alive and thriving.

I don't think you look like Frankenstein, maybe the monster, but nay if it's the pretty smiling blond posing so sweetly on your bio.

I'll put you in the prayer book at the monastery before mass, plus I'll keep praying until I hear the tumor has no humour cos it's beat.

The waiting and not knowing is the worse part.

5 days of praying and I'll dedicate Midday, vespers and evening prayer this week for your healing and inner peace.

My cousin had the same and the four cm, it is nothing. It used to be the whole neck a decade or two ago. And that was a scar, now no one sees it.

D A T, never fear when God is near.

Once I've hit post, know that I've prayed and this review is soaked with the Spirits love and peace. Be gentle with yourself, little lamb.

I pray that everything comes to a positive change in your life. Either way it will be managable. I am praying for you.

(((HUGS))) love and prayer, Deborah - I hate the waiting games 'THEY' play with our lives ... keep your sense of humor. Laughter IS the best medicine.
