A New Day of Hope On this cold and dark night I wrapped her in a blanket. Shielding her from the wind The pain she felt within. She is so little and afraid Not understanding this night. Drugs running through her body She still cries out in pain and fright. Doing my best to hold her gently I turned to my Lord for his help. Please soothe her pain and fears Her tears and her yelps. She made it through the night Tiny paws struggling to cope. Sun is peaking over the horizon A new day of hope. Deborah Ann Tornillo Copyright, 2011

She looks like a real sweetheart, Deborah, and I hope all turns out well. There are so many abandoned dogs today filled with pain and fear.
