Sometime mother's worrisome, shaky voice in telephone keeps coming back. These words are one such moments i experienced.

The deep silence of my room
deeper the darkness
but, my sleep was far and away
mother words through telephone
just the night before
kept ringing in my ears
like never before.

Tried to click away my thoughts
to wipe out the memories
but, somehow the echoes
kept reverberating
i knew the night would go long
had to do something for the morning call.

A glance at my wristwatch
the needle stroked three past
and, the whole valley asleep.
Just at this stage
couldn't endure one thing
the shriek of a bird near my window
in trouble panicking.

A silent night no more now
along with it my effort to dream
was the little creature in trouble
(or) imperiled by evil things?
as if in a dilemma
this little birdie now
shrieking more and more.

I tried my best and remained aloof
shut my eyes and longed to snooze
wanted to drift into a reverie
but, so helpless was i to be at ease
as the little creature's moans
would never again cease.

Just the very moment a strange thing happened
as i could hear a faint tune, a music so pleasent
the sound of a sitar from a nearby room
the little bird's sound now beginning to fall
and together it created a beautiful call.

Could hear the melodious sound of all
heralding a beautiful morning call
impelling me to float
to float along the river of tune
to the tune of a wonderful feeling
a divine tune so compelling.

The morning came
along with sunny ray's
i woke up calmly
a little bit dizzy
my watch signalled seven past.

The divine tune nowhereto be heard
i opened my windows hastily
no more was the little bird's sight
but i could still perceive
an absolutely riveting night.
