Founding Mothers there are none.
Still the children cleaving to their Founding Fathers
Ask, Where are our Founding Mothers?

The first so-called historical fact I remember ever being told during my first year in school was that in 1492 Columbus discovered America. Dare anyone speak that untruth to an Indian whose ancestors had lived on this land for thousands of years prior to Columbus setting foot in Indian country. During the next century explorers, traders and missionaries from Spain, Portugal, France and England came to America, most of them in search of booty that could be taken back to their native lands.
In 1621 twenty Africans were brought to Jamestown in virginia and became the first slaves in America.
At the time of the signing of the Declaration of Independence on July 4, 1776 Great Britain had established thirteen colonies in America. The Declaration of Independece declared that these colonies were no longer controlled by Great Britain. There was not anything wrong with the Europeans coming to live in America because there was enough land in America for the Indians and Europeans just as today there is enough land in America for Mexicans, Hatians and many other people to live in America. The land we call America is God's land, not man's land. The Psalmist puts it this way, "The earth is the Lord's and the fullness thereof." The problem was that those Europeans wanted to take all the land for themselves. To accomplish that they killed the majority of the Indians and herded the remainder of them onto Reservations where they, a dwindling population, remain even until this day.
The American Revolution, the Declaration of Independence, the Constitutional Convention held in 1778 and the election of George Washington in 1789 as the first president of the United States were acheivements of the Founding Fathers. During that 40 -year period there were six presidents, namely, George Washington (1789-97), John Adams (1797-01), Thomas Jefferson (1801-09), James Madison (1809-17), James Monroe (1817-25) and John Quincy Adams (1825-29). Some of the other Founding Fathers are, Alexander Hamilton, a statesman; Samuel Adams, a Revolutionary partriot; Benjamin Franklin, statesman and philosopher; Henry Clay, statesman and orator; John Handcock, Revolutionary statesman; Patrick Henry, statesmen and orator and Aaron Burr, a vice president and purportedly murderer of Hamilton during a duel.
Also during this period Manhattan was purchased from the Indians for a pittance, the Louisiana Purchase (1803) from France at a cost of fifteen million dollars, the Indians genocide crusade was accomplished and a significant increase of the slave trade so that at the end of this period there were nearly three million African slaves in America.
Not listed among the Founding Fathers were slaves and Indians. White women were also excluded from partricipating in the political life of America and unable to become Founding Mothers.
Today, it is ludirous for people to esteem the Founding Fathers higher than themselves and allow dead white men to know better than they know what's best for their generation and all generations. This is the height of absurdity. Common sense, although not a common thing, more than suggests that people alive are more capable of determining what is best for them than the Founding Fathers. Therefore, it is their duty to reject any and everything that the Founding Fathers bequeathed to them that is of less value than what they themselves are capable of producing. Shame on that generation who having received a heritage are unable to soar beyond the Founding Fathers who, like themselves, were not super but ordianry, human beings. By all means be thankful for the contribution the Founding Fathers made, but do not idolize them and make their offerings a hitching post. We can do better and to be true to ourselves we must do better.
Some Americans call the World War II generation the "Greatest Generation." I call the present generation, but just not this generation, the "Favored Generation."
Let us not forget that the Founding Fathers gave us a flawed Constitution that designated Indians as no people, African Americans as three-fifth of a human being with that being only for tax purposes, otherwise, like the Indians, no people, and did not grant to women the right to vote.
Today is our day. Let us say NO to "Foundermania" and YES to "Favoredecstacy."
