Are you living a meaningful life? Do you want more meaning in your life?Would you like to know how to increase meaning in your life? Insight into these and other questions about meaning and self-discovery can be obtained from reading this discourse.
It's your life.
What does it mean to be alive...to have life?
Without life nothing else matters...enough...at all...is.
Without life nothing is possible. Meaning is not about the aborted, the dead or the never existed.
Meaning is for the living, more especially, for the lived in the present;
At the basic level meaning answers in the affirmative the question, "Is life worth living?"
Meaning is inherent. Like human nature, it cannot be created or invented; it can only be discovered or detected.
Meaning is as unique for each person as each person is different from any other person. You are you and I am I.
The purpose of a person's life is defined by the meaning he experiences in living, at any given time.
Without meaning there can be no purpose, certainly no pursuit or actualization of purpose.
Meaning comes in degrees and is accessible to the degree that self-discovery engenders meaning. A word of caution: knowing about things, i.e., externals, is not a substitute for and should not be confused with knowing one's self.
For a person to live a meaningful life self-discovery has to continue.
Ask not what is the meaning of your life? Life has already asked you what is the meaning of your life?" Your answer to that question also answers the question, "What does my life ultimately amount to? and determines your significance, hence, whether you perceive life to be a curse or a blessing, a struggle or a celebration.
A person living a meaningful life has an attitude of gratitude and love for himself, others and the Cosmic Source. His engagement in spiritual growth is a constant as is his pursuit of self-discovery. He experiences joy in his liviing, is creatively productive and finds himself surrounded by beauty that is a reflection of the beauty perceived internally. While acknowledging the beginning words of the Bible, 'In the beginning God" he accepts as his way of being, "In the now God," This writer expresses the God as Totality conceptualization in these words: "Some call it et cetera: I call it God!"
