The Houri, Is she just a dream?

Houri

*********************

Last night I dreamed of her again

A shadow within my mind

My dreams of her, they are ordained

My soul and hers they are entwined.

Since when a youth of tender years

When my soul it writhed in pain

She would come to me and dry my tears.

She would drive away my pain.

Her tender touch would lift me up

When all the world seemed dark and low.

She let me drink from life’s sweet cup.

Her strength within me it would flow.

Sometimes when I would go to bed,

I would try to conjure up her face.

But only shadows filled my head

And memories of her grace.

Again, Last night I dreamed of her

She spoke and filled my soul with love

Bathed in a light so white and pure

I felt within the darkness removed.

I cannot recall the words she said

I only know she took my pain

And so tonight when I go to bed.

I’ll Hope that I'll dream of her again.
