There isn't many words
that can really get me riled.
Only three, to speak of,
drive me absolutely wild.
A most asinine expression is,
" as we speak " and
truthfully, as I see it,
this excuse is rather weak.

" The check is in the mail,"
at least, is better said,
or saying, " once upon a time,"
before a stories read...
Of these two appeasing phrases
we know of where we stand,
but doing something, as we speak,
is like a magicians slight of hand.

I'de like to meet the go between,
must be a busy mother's son.
He always seems to do a task,
before the conversation's done.
