He is my life; we've been thru a lot of strife
Loved him since high school; we were cool
High school sweethearts; thought we would never part
Trouble started once we tied the proverbial knot
First child after 2nd yr of marriage; everything was fine
Adored me and child; love continued for awhile
He still made me smile; loved his child
Took us out all the time; to the playground
downtown all around; out to dine
Couldn't understand after three yrs; I started to fear
Love eludes me; acted like he just didn't care
Child cried for daddy dear; ignored us it was clear
Still loved him very much; couldn't get enough
After awhile I lost my smile; child left alone for long while's
First time hit; thought it was a dream; didn't seem right
we didn't just have a fight; he's my guiding light; never
thought that would ever be my plight; a fight not nice
Not in front of our child; this is too wild; have to save
my child; this isn't my lifestyle; even still love him bcuz of
our child; it'll be hard for me to let go of the life I had as
his wife; he just lost interest bcuz he felt I stole his life
He wasn't ready for a child and a wife; came from money
didn't know how to sacrifice; to build his own life; so he
started to mistreat his wife; forgetting marriage included
a wife and a child; immaturity doesn't go hand in hand
with taking care of a child & wife; he lost sight of God's
faith and guiding light
