They came from another place
to take over our little planet,
stealing our souls
with a chord, a riff, oh man it
was so easy to fall,
to get caught up in the mix
once they started the invasion
led by Jimi Hendrix.
Jimmy Page and Eric Clapton
were the seconds in command;
when they starting playing
Earthlings were all damned.
Keith Richards rolled in,
Mick Mars brought the crew;
Tom Petty and Randy Rhoads
kicked ass with subterfuge.
Eddie Van Halen stole our hearts
while Jerry Cantrell held the chains.
We fell quickly for them all from
the Joe Satrianis to the Kurt Cobains.
We succumbed to their mastery,
with fervor followed each band,
admitted to Paul, John and George,
we were at their command.
From Yardbirds to Led Zepplins,
to the fright of Ozzy Osbourne,
they carried away our souls
leaving us addicted and reborn
as fanatic followers, spending our dough
for Eddie Vedder, Angus Young and Dave Navarro.
Now we don’t want your soldiers
stopping this invasion of our planet --
we’re not looking for saviors
or fighters tough as granite.
We rejoice in our musical plight,
listening all night until the dawn --
we’re all contented, kicked back
listening to Stevie Ray Vaughn.
It’s not the end of the world,
no apocalypse, my friend,
it’s simply music fighting back –
it’s guitarmaggedon!

What a CLEVER write!!!
When I saw the title in your listings, I simply HAD to visit the poem. Our whole family is guitar freaks...and I relax by twanging away on my Strat, at night.
