The science of the heart Deals in ventricles and atriums Vessels and chambers; It talks of beats and pressure With no murmur of the mysteries That Love confers. More than life is stored Within these pulsing walls Hidden in red encryption -- The pleasure and the pain Immeasurable by machine Incurable by prescription, Opens only to another heart That beats with the rhythm Of love’s syncopation. Science cannot define The ineffable attraction of hearts Searching for affirmation. The mysteries of love Course undetected in their path Unseen by eye or scan -- Yet power throbs here Vast, eternal, like the oceans; Love, God’s greatest plan.
