the People lived as slaves
in the land of Egypt
so many in their graves

a babe was set adrift

but saved by Pharoah's girl
and raised a royal child

but when he was a man
he killed a slaver dead
and fearing for his life

this child of Abraham
but one day from a burning bush
God said Moses here I am

and to Pharoah I shall send thee
to lead them out of slavery

and Moses said to God

so God called down the plagues
of frogs, water to blood red,

God parted the Red Sea
the Hebrews went across
Egyptians did give chase
an army they were lost

through many trials harsh
Commandments and the tears
they wandered through the wasteland
for well on forty years

but Moses died before
they crossed the Jordan shore
he brought them out of bondage
the people of the Lord

and God spake all these words
I am the Lord thy God
who brought thee out of Egypt
Thou shalt have no other gods
