the wind is waving to all the newcomers

the heart of the wind is beating
beating through the dawn
life is short and fleeting
and love is here and gone

and buzzing through the trees, orchestral and divine
is a language made of songs and war and thunder

wind that carries off what's left so quickly
deflecting arrows of the birds and hummers

wind that knocks her down like glassy waves
like matter without weight or fires all asunder

the heart of the wind is beating
beating through the dawn
life is short and fleeting
and love is here and gone

the surf of kisses breaks and is submerged
crashing in the door of the summer's wonder
