I am unsure of this one
omments eagerly sought

time was when i was a lad
i rode the wild wind.
together we would wind
through the canyons
of my mind searching
always searching for the
thing i left behind.

oh, the places we have rambled
and the strange things we did find
stay forever with me
in the canyons of my mind.

time now that i am not a lad
a gentler wind do i ride
through the convoluted canyons
of my convoluted mind.
now as ever searching
yes, always searching
for the thing i left behind.

oh, the places we have rambled
and the strange things we did find
stay forever with me
in the canyons of my mind.

oh, the places we did ramble
and strange things we did find
are there still for the finding
in the canyons of my mind.
still i cannot, now as ever,
within those canyons find
the thing i left behind.

Well you left behind that childhood, but kept it within your mind, in that canyon you spoke of so eloquently, you never did lose it, you always left it just behind, so turn around and it will be there...Peace thru the Verbal Riddle, Ed & Rufuz

Comment? I really like this, John. Sort of reminded me of Bob Segar's Runnin Against the Wind.

River of Memories: An Appalachian Boyhood by David Thompson
