when the greek playwright
wrote himself into the box
when all was lost,
when all hope was gone
the machine would creak
there would stand a god
to sort things out
alas no such machinery
exists on our stage
no divine sort out
all is lost when all is lost-
but when all hope is gone
we have learned to hope on
no god so powerful as this:
The Hopeful Human Heart.

You write really well, first off. More originality, I've gotten lucky tonight and have come upon some great raw poems. Anyway, I digress:) The ending was interesting because at church yesterday the same theme was used, about hope and the strength in it. I agree with this, there is such strength in the hopeful human heart.
Now that is an excellent way to look at lifes downside...personally I find drugs to do the same thing, but to each their own...LOL! A really good one John, you are most certainly a philosopher on the order of a great Greek god...Peace thru WHATEVER IT TAKES, Ed & Rufuz
