In the current federal election in Canada the leader of one of the opposition parties suggested that the Prime Minister bore responsibility for the deaths of homeless people caused by certain policies of his government. The PM, and the leader of the Official Opposition, hotly denied responsibility.
we go now
walking out from the center
by a tortuous paths
low roads and highroads
through scot and brigand
we go now
seeking truth
in the season of lies
seeking straight talk
from men of two tongues
while naked poets
perish in storm sewers
this one
will have it this way
that one
will have it that way
the ball spins left

but always over the top
the thing is never the thing
a cigar
is never

in the gutter
there are no issues
there are no colours
just trail balloons
and runners talking to themselves
visionless
a people die
smothered in a discredited
dream

no one is responsible
no politician
is responsible
for the out come
of their policies
rhetoric and posturing
spin and hair splitting
excrement of an anemic steer

this is reflective of all goverments it surpasses boulders and doesn't single out just the two here....it is sad but i always feel like a juror come election time picking out the lie from the truth if ever that is possible...but i do feel that the politican is responsible for his policies and if it doesn't go as planned than he/she should have a plan of action in place as to correct their wrongs or mishaps excellent piece....... When the recent war broke out I give up on ever hearing the truth from any country or any leader taking responsibility for the things that happen in their country. I think the time I got the most upset with our country is when they started placing the homeless in jail because they dared to walk the streets!
An excellent political rant, John. ( I had thought, from those I have talked to from up that way, that Canada did not have homelessness problems or any problems like that of the states?)...Peace, Ed & Rufuz
