sometimes enlightenment come up and kicks you, twice...
there was a time,
long time ago,
or maybe not,
when i thought i understood
the affairs of the heart.
when i could of said
with certainty,
with certainty could have said
all that could be said
of affairs of the heart.
that time is past
long past, now,
or not so long
but passed
it is
as if it ever was
and it never was
i thought
that love was
a game of
acquisitions,
and
conquest ...
i knew nothing
i never did
hadn't a clue
hadn't a cue
still haven’t
never learned
I've learned thus far that the only certainty in "affairs of the heart" is uncertainty. But once we accept that the beauty of confusion makes even the pain a wonderfully troturous part of love. The conquest is just an end. Very nice work!~X
Great play on words. Affairs of the hear? If anyone has figured them out, that's someone I'd like to meet. Maybe throw some "Clarity" my way. Good, good poem!

When you say you know nothing about love, you have begun to understand it. Great write.
