The sun rises so early
This time of year
It's hard to get up
Before the rooster crows
Lying in bed
Tis sweet to hear
The sound of the birds
As they greet the dawn
I yawn and I stretch;
I stretch and I yawn
And finally I rise
Having slept in
'Til 6:00 a.m.

These ironic lines unfold precisely like a lazy unhurried dawn, filling one with a sense of sacred duty and secret magic available only to those disciplined enough to rise, as it were, to the early morning occasion:-)

I'm usually up by shortly after five so I can relate to this. You convey well what you wanted to express. Thank you, John. Love and peace to you. Regis

Very cute, John. Sleeping in until 6 am is a big deal for me too, as I usually am up around 4. I do enjoy staying in bed and hearing the world outside wake us and see the sky turn pink then golden as the sun rises. Very nice images!
Take care,
Sherry
