Just a reflection of this am's mood

very much W.I.P.

longing for things that were;
yearning for things yet to be:
they are not the same at all
nor ever will they be.

things that were in the past
were never what now we see
the grit bad the pain are lost
in a lie that never could be

things yet to be are as plain
as the frost on a glass o beer
though things ahead loom bright
the road to is a fog shrouded pier.

I see where your coming from here John and how you could relate to my poem. The thing with fog, it's always thicker the futher away it is because in it you still have clarity of vision.

Dear John,
Great poem! I liked it all very much but I tripped over the last line. I think it would be better if you removed the 'to' in it or changed the line to 'this road too, is a fog-shrouded pier' Just a suggestion. Please don't be offended. I hope to read more of your work as I have time. Thanks for this.
