So, you think that harmless little tryst
with what’s her name,
Peggy Sue, or Mary Lou,
or both,
last night means naught in the
unfolding of the universe,
or that that sudden, impulsive fling
that you schemed about for weeks, ladies,
have no consequences
beyond the worry
that a moments passion resulted in, or not
a child
Think again.
Such copulative frenzy begets
houses in suburbia, SUV'S,
gridlock, air pollution …
matrimony until an early coronary or,
an office affair do us part …
Sex, casual or committed,
drives the species
to frenzied excess
that threatens
the species’ excess.
The whole vast endeavor
of the human experiment
Is impelled and imperiled
by your libido

Nice work.
