stock taking
it leaves a taste, acrid is the word for it, in an old man’s mouth, to recall the stupidity, arrogance and sef absorption of his younger selves. the people hurt the promises un kept, the love betrayed leads to an unflattering portrait. bravado, and selective memory, only go so far to excuse and deny the unmitigated ass that I was…then. I have learned one piece of wisdom since then, and only one, to forgive my young self for being young. The current question is like unto the first how do I keep from being an unmitigated ass now
