the jokster

from the rain rain poetry

=========================================

with distant rumblings like the gods are angry,

or the brownies are bowling nine pins,

the thunder presents itself, politely, at first,

until it has gotten comfortably close, when

it cracks with a roar that crosses the eyes

and shakes your skeleton like the trump

of doom. Having had its fun the thunder

moves chuckling away stopping, once or twice,

to encore --- just in case you did not get the joke.
