the poem was written some years ago 1974-79, originally untitled,
vi In the time of my immortality, When youth, and fire, and blood, Combined in a fine fierce alchemy, Passionate, I spoke, and sang, and walked The world around in the boots of love. Immortal innocent I swallowed Life whole and unchewed, in Eden, At the very dawn of time
