In the long night watches when hands lost and hands won haunt this poet, I look to you, haunted man that I am. Mortality weighs upon me. As year follows year the dreams of youth escape in the swift passage of time In the dark time stream haunted by what has been undaunted by what might come, I make my stand: Still, I look to you for love to keep my spirit young
