Gases were building up
Painful bloating
Unable to breathe properly
Heart beats are skipped
Panic setting in
Worried face.

Wheeled in from the street
Oh Lord! be discrete
I don't want to die
In this horrid place
Why didn't I, take my medication?

Heart beating faster
Panic taking root
Thoughts of dying, taking control
My stomach, has bloated.

A soft spoken person
Placed two nitros
Under my tongue
Other gentle voices
Urged me, to relax.

I closed my eyes
I don't want to die
Not now
Not away from my grandkids
I love them.

I want them, by my side
I feel tears gathering
My eyes are drowning
I see blur.

As my wife, holds my hands
A panic look on her face
Oh my God!
She knows Something.

I see a doctor near by
Smiling
Resembling a devil
Or the Reaper
Waiting for me.

I don't want to die
Not now
I want my children
Next to me.

All of a sudden
I let out a huge fart
As I was unable
To stop burping.

Until my stomach, was flat
The smiling doctor approached
Saying, just as I suspected
Gases.

What broke my heart
Was The Emergency Room Fee
$175.00
Plus doctor's fee
The ambulance fee
$450.00
And I only farted.
I should have die.

Isn't it awful that they charged so much for a fart that goes up in thin air? Not even a solid object that you can put a price tag on. You should have paid them with invisible money.

Funny ending, glad your okay. I thought I was going to loose my ex once through a similiar experience so I know how your wife felt. Scary but relief and then the bill! ahhhhhhhhhhh now that could give a heartattack!

LOL! You were so "full of it!" Too funny! I know the feeling; I've had panic disorder for many years now -- but some of my first panic attacks were frightening and I got taken by ambulance from work to Vanderbilt Hospital here in Nashville, thinking I was having a heart attack and was going to die! All that commotion, and all that money, just because I was hyperventilating. . . . Sheesh! No grim reaper, but a "bouncer" jumped me when I left, about my bill! They had my insurance cards; what more did they want? Nashville's TriStar chain of hospitals is doing that now. Bouncers attack you on the way out of the ER, if your insurance is pokey with payment! Even if you still feel half-dead, you will be pounced upon! I am reluctant to go to the ER anymore because of it; even if I were afraid I was dying, I'd likely talk myself out of going to the hospital, precisely because of those pouncers! Glad you're okay, sorry your wallet took a hit, but you scored a hit here from it! (Hope that helps?!)

;-}

~Namaste~

Very funny, at least the ending, you dying is not funny...I have a neighbor across the street, he was saying all day how his gas was giving him hell that day, later that same day it was so bad we took him to the ER, he was actually having a heart attack...got to know the symptoms before going to the ER...bet next time you will know, you old "fart", LOL! Take care of yourself, and Peace thru Medical Care, Ed & Rufuz

Very funny. The ER charge seems very inexpensive compared to the ones around here. That was one expensive fart!
