The Baby sat across from me His head rested On His mother's breast The softness of her bosom He seek While quietly blinking contemplating sleep. He was beautiful As He could be Large brown peaceful eyes Innocence, Caressed His face. The sign to buckle up Flashed We were airborned Just as fast. Wonderful flight I thought Only the smooth humming Of a well tuned jet Serenaded Throughtout my head. The speakers blurred A captain's warning Of Turbulence The Baby rose His head Our eyes immediately met. I was staring Into pure innocence He was staring deep, into my eyes At, I don't know what. The plane began to bounce Up and down, erratically I could hear people Screaming and yelling In paninc Some reciting prayers. The Baby Would not release the Grip Of His stare I dared not look away. The Turbulence is over Announced the captain Apologizing for all Discomfort. The Baby Released the stare's grip As He so loving smiled He reached into His shirt Gently placed something In my hand. At destination's end I exit the plane He walked in front of me Gently blew me a kiss Disappearing into the crowd. I slowly opened my hand Curious to know, what He placed I was Puzzled As I gaze at a plume Pure golden soft down feather. By: William Bonilla 5/15/04

This reminds of one flight that I had my whole family on and we hit the turbulence about 10 minutes from landing and in fact had to go into a holding pattern for 40 minutes while the storms passed. Well as most adults were crying etc as we knew what almost happen or could happen and the fear within the cabin suddenly from the back of plane we all hear a young child laughing as the bouncing was just pure fun. Maybe that was our angel as the child did bring a sense over us until we landed.
Nice thoughts given me here from this write.

William,

There are always angels among us....and think about this.....your eyes conveyed peace and calm to that baby - what a tremendous gift.

As for turbulence, I think it's getting worse - more and more flights I take (regardless of time of day, destination, altitude, etc) seem subject to sudden and unexpected jolts that leave me wanting one of those sippy cups they give to kids.

The felt the touch of an angel in this poem!!

Wow... William!! I cannot speak, almost... the symbolism, the surrealism, the reality all gripped my heart with the absoluteness of humanity. I think this piece is superior and touching, love.
