Crow, crow
Sitting on a roof
Cawing, cawing
His messages away
Are you hungry or happy
crow sitting on a roof
spare me some of your wisdom
of the things you see
which I don't understand
What do you really, have to say
Crow crow stay a spell
Until
I can Escape from hell
Don't fly away
The morning is damp
Overflowing
The wild flowers
With succulent dew
The perfume scent
Struggles
To stay in the air
No breeze
Just hot, steamy, muggy
You and me
Crow, crow sitting on a roof.

My husband talks to the crows, they are very inquisitive creatures. If you look into their eyes, it's almost as though they can see right through you.
Great piece of writing William.

As a person who happens to like crows very much, I truly enjoyed this piece, William. I've sat alone with many a crow on city rooftops and with them above my head on a branch of a tree in the forest. I find their company soothing for some reason; and their eerie caws enchanting.

Dear William, The crow is most often associated with death or bad tidings. I may be reading this wrongly but when I read this poem, I saw a man wanting to take his own life (perhaps sitting on the roof, a crow nearby) and asking for reasons not to.

'The morning is damp
Overflowing
The wild flowers
With succulent dew
The perfume scent
Struggles
To stay in the air '

These lines were especially meaningful for me. This is where I saw the plea to give you (him) reason to carry on. The perfume scent struggling to stay in the air makes me think of a beautiful memory that may have become painful or is not enough to give hope.

The beauty of poetry is that it evokes emotion. I have often said that poetry IS emotion in words. This does it for me.
My heartfelt thanks.
