Last day on the beach
Warn humid cloudy morning
At a distance
I hear, the 60's oldies playing
Bringing memories
Of happier days.
From partially cloudy skies
A seagull, falls from grace
Onto the sand
She now lays
On her open grave
I close my eyes
To disregard the scene
Pray for better days.
A sadness is in the air
The presence of loss
Laughter seems to fade from within
Dried petals upon the ground
Of blossoming flowers.
A chill in the air
Where once was warm
The sun covered by clouds
Sandy beaches, now deserted
Quietness so still.

I love your poem because it reminds me of this and what is coming.

And I, too, always feel a tinge of sadness at summer's eventual departure, and at the first hint of chill in the air.
Well Done!
