And the landlords
Disregarded their property
The land
Was left unattended.

Evacuating like rats
On a sinking ship
Every man for himself
The peons and peasants
Left behind.

To fend for themselves
Without transportation
Leaving it all
To the devil's temptation.

The waters, from the bay
Were sucked
Towards the horizon
Almost dry.

The silence
Was hard on the ears
Breathing became laborious
For they knew disaster rode
On the white crest
From the horizon's distance.

Heading towards, the arid shores
At speeds faster
Than a man
Was able to run.

Fear replaced, the shocked look
On their faces
As they trampled
Each other, to escape
The coming onslaught.

Cresting the dry sands
Of the bay
At one hundred feet high
Death was riding, a giant tsunami.
