His Eyes

Sleep fails me
On this sad lonely night
My eyes are dried
I've cried away, all my tears.

I've witnessed
A Man
Scorched at the pillar
By passionless soldiers
Weaned, on hate since birth
Death meant nil to them.

He, but a week ago
spat and placed dirt
into my blind eyes
causing excruciating pain
His face was the first vision
before my sight.

I dropped to my knees
Prostrated before Him
With His most humbleness
He helped me to my feet
Instructing me
To travel the righteous path.

Within my heart and soul
I wanted to avenge Him
To pounce upon the soldiers
A stare from his soulful eyes
Prevented
Me from intervention.

Within His eyes, I read
It's My Father's will
That I suffer
"So be It"
Were His final words
To me.
